We’re working together with Manawhenua, Auckland Council and KiwiRail.

Manawhenua plays a vital role as the kaitiaki for Tāmaki Makaurau | Auckland. We partner with Manawhenua to ensure Māori cultural values and perspectives are considered and integrated into our transport network plans.

Auckland Council is responsible for Auckland’s land use planning, which sets out the policy and rules to enable urban development. We work closely with Auckland Council to ensure our transport plans integrate with the council’s land use plans – to create high quality and more compact future communities with greater access to active and public transport options. This includes aligning with area structure plans where these are in place.

KiwiRail owns and operates the rail transport network in Aotearoa | New Zealand. KiwiRail runs rail freight services and works with Auckland Transport, which operates the AT Metro passenger rail service in Auckland. We work with KiwiRail to deliver an integrated approach to transport network design, including proposed extensions to the rail network, improved rail facilities (stations and parking) and train services.
